Pāvilosta is a port town in western Latvia, in the South Kurzeme Region, at the mouth of the Sakas River in the Baltic Sea, 240 km from Riga (180 km as the crow flies), 44 km from the regional centre of Grobiņa, 54 km (40 km) north of Liepāja, 70 km (60 km) south of Ventspils and 80 nautical miles (about 150 km) east of Gotland Island. The port of Pāvilosta is one of Latvia's small ports. Picturesque location on the Baltic Sea.
Kuldīga is a town in Kurzeme, Latvia, at the Venta River, the administrative centre of Kuldīga Municipality, 155 km from Riga.In the 16th-17th centuries it was the residence of the Duke of Courland and Semigallia, where his court resided. It was also the town of the Hanseatic League. Kuldīga is still sometimes referred to as the "Capital of Kurzeme" or the "Heart of Kurzeme".In 2016, Kuldīga had 11,800 inhabitants. The bridge over the Venta is the longest brick bridge in Latvia.
